THE PATH FROM NATURE TO CULTURE
The Santa Fe Trail is a 4.3 mile multi-use concrete path that connects our most significant nature resource, White Rock Lake, to three major historic neighborhoods. As it reaches through East Dallas to Deep Ellum, Fair Park and Downtown Dallas, it touches cultural and natural landmarks, quiet neighborhoods of architectural significance, thriving employment centers, exciting entertainment districts and beautiful recreational destinations.
The City of Dallas and TXDOT have provided a great 12-foot-wide path for the community—which includes commuters, families, shoppers, athletes, artists and social groups of all kinds—and it is up to us, the users of the trail and the neighbors who live near the trail, to make it the community asset we wish it to be. The Master Plan for the trail includes amenities for both the beautification of the park as well as general use, enhanced safety and enjoyment, while keeping with the character of each of the four precincts along the path.
The Friends of Santa Fe Trail depends on your generosity. With your contributions—financial, volunteer hours and help spreading the word—The Friends of Santa Fe Trail will continue to enhance and maintain this wonderful community asset.
